Sri Debasis Sarkar, MD, TSECL
Sri Debasis Sarkar, MD, TSECL is a qualified Electrical Engineer with over 30 years of qualitative experience in Operation, Erection & Commissioning, Quality Assurance and Maintenance Operations in Power Generation , Distribution & transmission sector.
Previously, he was associated with India Power Corporation Limited (IPCL) as Vice President (Technical), looking after the Asansol Licensee operation as Business Head, an integrated power company having Generation, transmission & distribution within its licensed area of business. Before that, he was leading the Ranchi-based subsidiary of CESC Ltd as Head (O&M). He has worked with IPCL in the capacity of Addl. Chief Engineer and Chief Engineer overseeing the operational aspects of the Asansol and its surrounding area.
Mr. Sarkar, also worked with M/S Torrent Power Limited, engaged in handling both H.T & L.T distribution network of Bhiwandi (Maharashtra). He was also looked after the complete distribution and transmission operations for the South-West region of the Kolkata Licensee area of CESC Ltd. Under his able leadership TSECL is achieving greater heights. Recently TSECL has improved its ranking for its continual improvement and organizational reforms. During his tenure TSECL has also been upgraded to grade "B-" from grade "C" in the Annual Integrated Rating & Ranking:Power Distribution Utilities by Ministry of Power, Govt. of India. The over all ranking jumped from rank 39 to rank 22 among all 52 DISCOMS showing tremendous improvement in the over all performance of TSECL. His vision for TSECL is to make it more consumer centric DISCOM and to provide uninterrupted quality power supply to the people of the state.
